Letters / Chirping for the SNP
It is good to have Douglas Young back chirping for the SNP (‘Happy days’, SN 20/7/15).
“Better Together political parties grabbed theirs with both their paws”, to quote Douglas. Better Together parties no longer exist Douglas, they went with the No vote some time back!
Now I realise the SNP will make much of passing their extra pay to charity, good propaganda for them but they are not alone in doing that, many other MPs of all parties are doing just the same – they are just showing a little more humility and less self adoration in the process.
It is so very typical of Salmond to make much of passing some monies to charity with so much publicity, he is rather more silent about the literally £100,000s plus he pockets yearly in pensions. (Daily Telegraph: www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9254965/Alex-Salmond-refuses-to-give-up-gold-plated-pension-like-Cameron-and-Brown.html)
Douglas, you really ought to check a few facts before committing pen to paper, your pals at SNP head office may just put the muzzle on again.
