News / DNA gave him away
A YOUNG serial offender from Shetland has had his current prison sentence extended by a further four months after he admitted smashing a shop window at Cindy’s hairdresser, in Lerwick, and stealing two hair clippers.
Scott Anderson, described as a prisoner at Peterhead, pled guilty to the charge when he appeared in hand cuffs at Lerwick Sheriff Court, on Thursday.
The court heard that the 23 year old was arrested after his DNA was found at the scene of the crime.
Defence solicitor Tommy Allan said his client had no recollection of the theft, which took place on 11 January.
Anderson is currently serving a 40 month jail term for stabbing another man and is expected to be imprisoned until September next year.
