News / Tow arrives in Baltasound
A NORWEGIAN yacht which started taking in water 60 miles north of Unst has arrived at Baltasound pier.
The Fri Inspiration with five people on board was towed to Unst by the Lerwick lifeboat after an pump, lowered to the yacht by the Sumburgh based search and rescue helicopter, managed to lower the water level in the boat.
The crew of yacht had earlier on Wednesday alerted Shetland Coastguard to the emergency.
The lifeboat took her under tow around 30 miles north of Unst at around 11am and arrived at Baltasound at just before 4pm.
