Gender discrimination?

Regarding your article about the Braer (Braer – 20 years on…could it happen again?; SN 4/1/13), is there some kind of gender discrimination going on?

I know the story of what was happening at Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary during the oil spill has been done to death, but I do think it should have got ‘a wee mention’ at least, considering the role it played.

Many other women played key, if not crucial roles during that time and herstory is just as important as history. No offence to da boys at all.

It’s hard to believe I am married to one half of the Shetland news editorial team. Surprised!
