News / New Brae hotel
NO OBJECTIONS have been received to plans for a 100 bedroom hotel to be built at the north end of Brae.
Shetland Islands Council’s planning committee will decide next Tuesday whether to grant planning permission to management company BDL to build the two and half storey hotel next to the Moorfield ring road beside the “Toy Town” housing estate.
The hotel accommodation has already been completely block booked by oil giant Total for the first year after it is completed in the summer of 2013 for workers building its gas plant as Sullom Voe.
The oil company has also agreed to book 80 bedrooms for the following six years until 2020.
The hotel will include a gym, a restaurant and a public bar and could provide up to 30 full time and 10 part time jobs.
