News / Second festive garage break in
THIEVES have broken into a second rural garage business in Shetland causing damage and stealing money.
On Sunday night PJ Hursons, in Ollaberry, was targetted by thieves some time between 10pm on Sunday and 9.30am on Monday.
The break in follows an identical incident at Burra Motors, in Hamnavoe, the night before, when the garage was ransacked and a large sum of money was taken in cash and cheques.
Shetland police are urging local people to be extra vigilant for any suspicious activity, especially around small businesses and garages.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact the police on 101.
Meanwhile two men were remanded in custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday after appearing in private charged with housebreaking.
Adam Nelson, aged 24, of Scalloway, and 26 year old Kieran Roberts, made no plea or declaration and were committed for further examination.
