Young promoters to host gig for under 10s this weekend
BAIRNS aged under 10 will get another chance to boogie to live music in Mareel this weekend as the Shetland Young Promoters Group (SYPG) holds another child-friendly gig.
The SYPG’s event, called Blast!, will take place in the Mareel auditorium on Saturday between 2pm and 4pm.
Performing will be the One Man Disco Band and singer Martha Robertson.
The SYPG said an under-10s disco is set to become an annual occurrence after a similar event proved a success last year.
Tickets are priced at £5.50 per child, with parents able to accompany them for free.
Meanwhile young people will get another chance to enjoy live music next month.
The Rising North music festival will host an all-ages gig, also in the Mareel auditorium, as part of its Thursday night festivities on 13 August.
The line-up features (the) 3310, Toadfish, Delorean and Operation Shovel. Free entry tickets are available online.
