Transport / All Friday sailings cancelled, NorthLink confirms
NORTHLINK has said that all of its ferry services on Friday night have been cancelled due to the adverse forecast.
The passenger sailings of both the Hrossey and Hjaltland to Shetland have both now been cancelled.
The Hjaltland will sail from Aberdeen to Kirkwall at 5pm, arriving at 11pm, but will then return to Aberdeen afterwards.
The two freight sailings of the Helliar and Hildasay are likewise cancelled.
Again the Hildasay will sail from Aberdeen to Kirkwall at 3pm, before returning once cargo operations are completed.
Meanwhile the northbound sailing’s arrival into Kirkwall tonight could be delayed by up to one hour.
The Hjaltland has also been delayed arriving into Lerwick this morning, with the vessel making her way into the harbour at around 9.30am.
