THE ANNUAL Viking Shetland pony show was held for the 34th time on Saturday and Sunday, at the Cunningsburgh Show field.

The Helen Thomson memorial fun day was held on the Saturday with in-hand and performance classes held on the Sunday.

There was a great turnout of exhibitors from the length and breadth of Shetland and the Pony Breeders of Shetland Association would like to thank their judges who travelled from across the UK to officiate.

Aimee Budge, one of Helen Thomson’s students in the past, judged the classes on the fun day. Susan Dunnet from Caithness judged the standard pony ring, Jem Roberts from Unst judged the small pony ring and Tony Bell from Northern Ireland judged the performance pony ring.

Competition was fierce across the weekend with record entries on the fun day.

The organisers said the show could not have happened without the help and support from fabulous stewards and helpers Abigail Robertson, Ayla Leask, Ailidh Risk, Melanie Henderson, Susan Goodlad, Leighton Anderson, Katrena Anderson, Gemma Irvine and Helen Dickson.

They also gave a huge thank you to Harbro for itssponsorship and also to the ring sponsors Cee & Jays/InterSport, A Jarmson (Shetland) Ltd and ICare Shetland and the numerous class sponsors.

A final thanks was given to all competitors who attended across the two days, Kevin Jones for attending on both days to take photos and finally to the Cunningsburgh and District Agricultural Society for the use of their show field.
