Inkster, originally from Scalloway, said he was excited by the latest expansion of the company which now operates from 12 different locations.

Media law and data protection specialist Jane Clemetson is joining Inkster Solicitors in London, while the firm has also become the first Scottish member of the International Practice Group.

Clemetson has worked for the UK’s music licensing company PPL and Sony Music as well as advising EMI and other music and news publishers, including Reach, News UK and the Telegraph Media Group.

She is also advising on data protection and AI.

Inkster said the company is bringing her legal expertise to the Scottish business market.

“Jane Clemetson brings a wealth of new experience to Inksters which will be of immense benefit to Scottish clients,” he said.

Inkster said that in addition the firm is expanding his international reach by becoming the first Scottish member of the International Practice Group, a global community of lawyers, accountants and tax advisors.

“Membership of the group allows us to serve, in Scotland, clients referred from the member firms abroad,” he said.

“Likewise it provides our Scottish clients with reliable and trusted advice if and when they need it in foreign jurisdictions.

“I am looking forward to making meaningful connections with more members of the group at the next conference in Singapore this autumn.”
