ROADWORKS on the A970 main road near to the golf course in Dale are set to be delayed.

The work, being carried out by Shetland Islands Council just north of the road to access to Shetland Golf Club, started last Monday.

It was due to be completed next week, on Wednesday 11 December.

However the council’s roads department said that had been delayed, with a specialist BT team due to arrive from the mainland next Monday.

A section of the embankment and verge is being reinstated after a small landslip across from the golf course access track.

Traffic lights have been in operation during the work, affecting drivers heading both towards Lerwick and Scalloway, and those going north or west.
