Community / Change at top of charitable trust
SHETLAND Charitable Trust has elected a new chair – Robert Leask.
He grew up in Lerwick and spent his early career as a chemical engineer with companies like ICI and Zeneca.
Leask worked in procurement for the Scottish Government and now has a consultancy business dealing with public and private sector clients across the UK.
He was previously the vice-chair of the charitable trust.
Leask said he was “deeply honoured” to be given the role.
The appointment was made at a meeting of the trust on Thursday and followed Dr Andrew Cooper stepping down from the role.
The new vice-chair at the trust is Ryan Stevenson from Nesting who is contracts manager at the Malakoff.
