Community / Architectural society to host fundraising event
AN EXHIBITION of Highlands and Islands Architectural Association award entries is taking place in Lerwick next week.
The event, hosted by the Shetland Architectural Society, is also raising money to support the Malcolmson family during their son Luke’s leukaemia treatment.
Luke’s parents Iain and Suzanne are both members of the society.
People encouraged to donate blood during Luke’s chemotherapy
The event is taking place at Lerwick Town Hall on 23 and 24 February, from 2pm to 5.30pm both days.
People can also ‘ask an architect’ at the free entry event.
Thirty minute appointments with a local architect are on offer to discuss potential projects and gain advice and inspiration.
There is no fee for these sessions, but people are invited to give a suggested donation of £25, which will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
A large number of the Malcolmson family will run various distances at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival this year to raise funds for the trust.
To book an ‘ask an architect’ slot people are asked to email karen@pjparchitects.co.uk.
