Community / Evie’s big hair cut
SIX year old Evie Paul is set to have her long wavy hair cut off this Saturday in support of the Little Princess Trust, the charity which helps children who are losing their hair due to cancer treatment.
The Lerwick lass has already raised almost £1,000 for the good cause and hopes for a few more people to make an online donation.
She said: “When I was born I had the most blonde hair a lot of staff in the hospital had ever seen. Since then it’s grown and grown. I am told I look like Rapunzel now.
“Now I want to help someone less fortunate and give them 16″ – 19″ of my long wavy blonde hair.
“I am planning to get my hair cut on 5 November by a lovely lady called Jennifer Murray and hoping to raise the most money I possibly can.”
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
Since 2006 the charity has provided more than 12,000 wigs to children and has donated more than £17 million for research projects aimed at finding more effective treatment for childhood cancers.
