Community / Fundraiser aims to reach nearly 300,000 steps by end of the month
A BUS driver is raising money for charity by taking 280,000 steps in February.
Pawel Hala is raising money for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), which looks after young people with life-shortening conditions while providing support for their families.
He can be seen wearing his promotional t-shirt while he is behind the wheel of the service six bus from Lerwick to Sumburgh.
Pawel, who works for Cunningsburgh based J&DS Halcrow, moved to Shetland in November last year and is enjoying island life whilst working hard to get to know the local community.
J&DS Halcrow operations manager Jonathan Harwood said: “Pawel is a valued member of our driving team, and we hope he will raise lots of money for a worthwhile cause.
“We’re really proud of his efforts and only too happy to help him promote his fundraising efforts.”
People can donate to the fundraiser here.
