News / Local titles up for media awards

SHETLAND News has been nominated for a prize at the 2019 Highlands and Islands Media Awards.

It is shortlisted in the best use of digital media category after revamping its website in October.

Shetland News most recently won the award in 2016 and 2013.

BBC Radio Shetland’s John Johnston has been shortlisted for the feature writer award, while The Shetland Times’ Jim Tait is up for the sports reporter prize.

The newspaper, meanwhile, is also nominated in the newspaper of the year category.
