News / Sauerkraut entrepreneur nominated for award
AN ENTREPRENEUR from Shetland’s westside has been nominated for a prize at the Scottish Women’s Awards.
Evonne Morrison, from Weisdale, is up for the Food Entrepreneur of the Year award for her Superkraut range of probiotic-rich sauerkrauts.
The awards will take place in Glasgow on 12 September.
Evonne juggled launching her business Good Nude Food with being pregnant with twins.
Last year she won funding in a leading Dragon’s Den style competition for Scottish entrepreneurs for her business.
Superkraut is on sale in England and Scotland – as well as at Scoop in Lerwick – and it sold out in some stores in its first week.
“There are so many hard working and ambitious women in Scotland, so it’s an honour to have been picked as a finalist,” Evonne said.
“It has taken a lot of hard work to launch my first line of food products on the UK market so I appreciate the recognition.”
