THE LERWICK lifeboat crew spent the early hours of Sunday morning towing a fishing boat to safety after it suffered engine failure off Sumburgh Head.

The 24ft vessel raised the alarm at 11.30pm on Saturday and 15 minutes later the lifeboat was on its way.

It started towing the boat at around 12.45am before arriving at Morrison Dock in Lerwick at 4.15am.
