Orkney win Milne Cup

HOPES that Shetland could win the 100th Milne Cup in the inter-county football were dashed on Saturday afternoon when favourites Orkney won the fixture comprehensively with five goals to one.

The goals for Orkney were scored by Liam Delday (2), Jack Stout, David Delday and Thorfinn Stout. Pail Molloy scored for Shetland ten minutes from the end.

Meanwhile, the 84th Lady Hamilton Cup in the senior inter-county hockey was won by Orkney after beating the Shetland team 4 – 1. Both games were played in Kirkwall.
