News / Weather disruption
THERE is likely to be disruption to transport today (14 February) as strong winds look set to hit the isles.
Inter-island ferries are already affected, with the Yell Sound service reduced to a single vessel just before 7.30am.
NorthLink Ferries said its southbound sailing will be leaving Lerwick at 11pm and is expected to arrive in Aberdeen at midday on Thursday. The Kirkwall stop has been cancelled.
Both freight sailings to and from Shetland have been cancelled.
Southerly winds may gust to force nine or ten in the afternoon.
Please check the Transport Notification portal on the frontpage of the Shetland News website for updates on disruptions to the inter-island ferries services.
