News / Town centre bar assault
A MAN from Lerwick who severely injured another man when assaulting him in a town centre bar has had his sentence deferred until later this month.
Mark Toka, of Gilbertson Road, admitted at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday to pushing the man on the body, causing him to fall to the ground to his severe injury and permanent impairment, at the Thule Bar on 21 February last year.
Sheriff Philip Mann decided to defer the case for social work reports before hearing a narration of the events or representation from the 27 year old’s defence.
The case was adjourned until 15 February, with Toka’s bail continued in the meantime.
