News / Car left road near Scatsta

A WOMAN was taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital to be assessed after a red Mazda car left the road near Scatsta Airport on Tuesday evening.

A police spokeswoman said the incident took place at around 6.30pm. She said the woman was not seriously injured and there were no other vehicles involved, while the road was closed for a short time to allow for recovery.

Police are looking for anyone who may have seen the crash to come foward with information.

They said in a statement: “Police are particularly looking to speak to the owner of a black vehicle which was heading past the airport in the direction of Brae and may have observed the collision. Lerwick Police can be contacted on 101 or by attending at Lerwick Police Station.”
