News / Flooded scalloper

FIRE crews from Brae and Hillswick were called out early on Friday to pump out a small fishing boat that had flooded.

The Voe-based scalloper and trawler Golden Shore was berthed at Toft pier with one man on board.

He called Shetland coastguard at 7.15am who contacted the fire service to assist.

The firemen used two pumps and an ejector pump to clear the boat of water and had completed the task by 9am. No one was hurt in the incident.
