News / New SCT appointment
THE REV Tom Macintyre has been appointed to the Shetland Charitable Trust following the resignation of trustee Stephen Morgan.
Macintyre had been the “reserve candidate” when three trustees (Andrew Cooper, Peter Malcolmson and Tom Morton) were newly appointed in March this year.
Trust chairman Bobby Hunter said it was decided to offer the latest vacancy to the Reverend as he had already gone through the vetting process.
The appointment means the trust has again the full complement of eight appointed and seven council trustees.
Hunter said: “The existing trustees and staff look forward to working with Rev Macintyre and to his valuable contribution to the business of the trust”.
Rev Macintyre is a retired Church of Scotland minister, who is currently chaplain to the SIC and Shetland College.
He is chairperson of Shetland Inter Faith and sits on both the SIC education and families committee and the NHS spiritual care committee.
Meanwhile, in 2014/15 trustees claimed a total of £3,962.15 in expenses. Only five of the 15 trustees made any claim – chairman Bobby Hunter claimed £1,525.25, while trustee Drew Ratter claimed £1,599.40. The other claimants were Robert Henderson (£709.10), Jim Smith (£277.20), and Allison Duncan (£124.20).
