FRENCH oil company Total has bought the 10 per cent stake in the Glenlivet gas field west of Shetland for £10 million from Faroe Petroleum, increasing its stake to 70 per cent. The company plans to send gas from the field, which lies close to Laggan-Tormore, to its Shetland gas plant.
