News / Bus survey
ISLANDERS have until next week to have their say in shaping Shetland’s public bus service.
A month ago plans to award 288 school and public bus contracts were delayed until March next year because the tenders that came in were too high for the council’s budget.
Now Shetland’s transport partnership ZetTrans and the council are asking the public what kind of service they want.
People have only until 5pm next Tuesday (13 August) to fill in an online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/SESbussurvey13
The council said taking 10 minutes to answer the questions would help them make informed decisions about the level of provision across the isles.
Head of development Neil Grant said: “The survey is designed to collect details about passenger journeys to ensure that any decisions made in relation to the level of services provided are well informed and I would encourage as many people as possible to complete it.”
People unable to access the online survey can contact the SIC on 01595 744 735 for a paper copy.
