Yacht rescue

LERWICK harbour’s fast rescue boat was called out to help a local yacht after it lost power off Bressay just before midday on Monday.

The Fivla had only just left the Lerwick marina and was on her way past the Bressay gut factory when her engine failed and she started to drift onto the beach.

The crew called Lerwick harbour for help and as the fast boat was being launched anyway, it went straight across the harbour and towed her back to the marina.
