SANDWICK’S fire crew were called out on Saturday night after a wooden fence around a house at Punds caught aflame.

A fire service spokeswoman in Inverness said that about 20 metres of fencing and two fence posts were destroyed at the house at Wars.

The crew were called out just before 8pm after someone reported seeing smoke in the area.

Once they reached the scene it took them seven minutes to extinguish the flames.

The local police were informed.
