News / Remanded in custody

A SHETLAND man has been locked up for a week after breaking his curfew.

Calum Jamieson, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday after he was found by police in the town’s Esplanade.

The 29 year old was supposed to be at his home at 7a Pitt Lane, Lerwick, between 7pm and 7am as he awaits a court case where he faces four motoring offences.

Jamieson is alleged to have been involved in a car crash on Lerwick’s Clickimin Road on 27 January last year.

He has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by lying to police that he was driving the car, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, failing to report an accident and failing to stop and hand over his name and address.

The case has been continued without plea until 7 February when Jamieson will appear from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court.
