News / Woman held over assault
A TWENTY eight year old woman had to be taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital after suffering injuries to her head and face in an assault on Lerwick’s Gilbertson Road on Friday night.
Police said a 27 year old woman is being held in the cells in connection with the incident, and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
Police were also kept busy over the weekend with three separate cases of shoplifting at Tesco supermarket and Laings chemist at the Market Cross. Three men aged 37, 26 and 28 have been arrested and reported to the fiscal.
A 39 year old man was also arrested for possession of alleged Class C drugs in Lerwick’s Harbour Street on Saturday night after being subject to a police search.
