NORTHERN Constabulary confirmed on Thursday afternoon that a Lerwick police officer has been suspended from his duties pending an internal investigation.
The young constable is alleged to have turned up for duty smelling of alcohol. He was subsequently breathalysed and a blood sample was taken.
In a statement, a force spokesman said: “An officer has been suspended pending an internal investigation, following an allegation in connection with alleged road traffic offences in Shetland.”
