Alfie raises thousands for charity in searing Edinburgh run

EIGHT year old Alfie Pottinger has raised almost £1,500 for charity after running the Edinburgh 1.5km on Saturday.

Alfie Pottinger raised money for the Brirish Heart Foundation by running the 1.5km race at the Edinburgh Marathon.

Alfie completed the race in seven minutes and 36 seconds in incredibly hot heat in the capital.

He was taken on the race to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in aid of his da, Larry Manson.

And he managed to raise a total of £1,220, along with £276 in Gift Aid, to push it close to £1,500 for the charity.

Ability Shetland also paid tribute to Chloe Keppie after she ran her first half-marathon in aid of the charity over the weekend in the capital.

Keppie raised over £3,100 for Ability Shetland in the process, with the charity calling the total “incredible”.
