Transport / Disruption to NorthLink ferries due to high winds

NORTHLINK has said there will be some disruption to its services tonight (Tuesday) due to high winds.

The Hrossey may be an hour late leaving Aberdeen tonight, while the Hjaltland – which had been due to sail at 7pm – could be delayed by up to two hours in sailing from Lerwick.

Her arrival into Aberdeen on Wednesday also could be delayed by up to an hour.

The freight ferry Hildasay is scheduled to leave Aberdeen at 3pm today, sailing for Kirkwall and Lerwick, but NorthLink said her arrival into Lerwick tomorrow could be up to three hours late.

Both of Wednesday night’s passenger ferry sailings are currently under review, along with the freight sailing of the Hildasay from Lerwick to Aberdeen.

NorthLink has warned there is the possibility of a week of disruption, stretching through to Tuesday 31 March.
