Transport / Sunday sailings go ahead but with disruptions, NorthLink says

Rolling, rolling, rolling. Passengers feared the NorthLink ferry was going to capsize on Wednesday night before the captain regained control of the vessel with 500 passengers on board.

SUNDAY night’s NorthLink passenger sailings will go ahead, but with delays and disruptions.

The Hjaltland will now leave Lerwick at midnight, arriving in Aberdeen at 11am on Monday.

The Hrossey will sail from Aberdeen at 5pm, with her arrival into Lerwick tomorrow possibly delayed by up to an hour.

It comes after NorthLink had warned that the sailings were likely to be cancelled.

NorthLink issued two updates about the sailings on Saturday, but on both occasions simply said that the decision would be made later.
