Transport / NorthLink warns of significant disruption over coming days
NORTHLINK has warned there is likely to be a significant amount of disruption to its sailings over the coming days.
Wednesday night’s north and southbound sailings are currently under review, with a “high probability” that they will be cancelled.
Both of Thursday night’s sailings are also under review, with high winds forecasted through the week.
Tonight’s (Tuesday) southbound sailing from Lerwick to Aberdeen will leave two hours early, at 5pm, due to the forecast.
Freight sailings are also expected to be heavily affected, with both of Wednesday’s sailings also likely to be cancelled, NorthLink said.
Thursday evening’s freight sailings are also under review.
It comes amid an expected influx of visitors and returning Shetlanders for the Lerwick Up Helly Aa festival next week.
