They spent the same 15 years agoHaving just read of the Shetland Charitable Trust’s spending for the coming year, I’m sure we’re all aware that 15 years ago, yes fifteen years, the trust was spending precisely the same amount.

Of course back then, there was only a piffling £200 million in the reserves …, now there is only a piffling half a billion.
The imminent AI stock market crash will put a small dent in the coffers, I’ve no doubt, and then there will be a call for more prudence and responsibility, more tightening of the belts … oops, sorry, I’m muddling the trust’s vast resources and management with the council’s vast resources and management … silly me.
