Council / Papa Stour linkspan works postponed until next year
PLANNED maintenance works on the linkspan at the Papa Stour ferry terminal have been postponed again.
Shetland Islands Council said the works, which had been due to begin next week, have been delayed until spring 2026.
The works were first announced to take place in June, before being pushed back to mid-August.
They were then delayed by weather on three occasions between August and now, with the latest delay also due to the upcoming poor forecast.
The council said the Papa Stour ferry will continue to operate as normal next week, for pre-booked passengers and vehicles, weather permitting.
