Ferry maintenance to reduce Bluemull Sound to single vessel on Monday

THE BLUEMULL Sound ferry service will run with a single vessel to a Saturday timetable on Monday (14 August) due to essential maintenance on the Geira.

All bookings are suspended, and the crew will endeavour to put in extra runs where they can.

Shetland Islands Council said it apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Meanwhile recent figures showed that the cost of ferry maintenance for the council in 2022/23 was nearly £5.4 million.
