Transport / Drivers warned of possible ‘significant delays’ due to repair to Lerwick water main
DRIVERS approaching Lerwick from the north are being encouraged to use an alternative route into town at peak times due to repairs on a burst water main on the A970 at the Gremista roundabout.
While the Scottish Water repairs are taking place, traffic flow will be controlled with three-way traffic lights, which may cause significant delays at times.
The council said motorists should consider using the alternative route via the A970 South Road and the B9073 (‘Black Gaet’) road, especially at peak times.
