Election / SIC releases polling place turnout figures

THE OVERALL turnout in Shetland for the Scottish Parliament election at 5pm today (Thursday) was 44 per cent.

When postal votes are removed from the equation, this figure is 30 per cent.

Bressay and Voe have the highest turnout for in-person voting so far at 40 per cent, while Brae, Burra and Aith were all 24 per cent at 5pm.

No information was received for Mossbank prior to 5pm, so its figure is not included.

Polling places are open until 10pm.
