Working together

Davie Meddes’ attack on Emma Macdonald about the Northern Isles Resilience Summit is entirely unfounded, as I suspect he knows himself.

We structured the summit into a stakeholder session in the morning and the public event in the afternoon, and Emma took a key role in the summit alongside myself, Alistair Carmichael and other local organisations.

We all worked together to challenge telecoms providers on how they are going to improve resilience for Shetland. The public event after the summit was to ensure that the whole community could put their views forward as well.

The summit was a good demonstration of the pressure we can bring as a community when we work together.

It is a shame that Mr Meddes seems to be taking the opposite lesson.
