Coronavirus / Two more Covid cases recorded
ANOTHER two cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Shetland, according to the latest government data.
NHS Shetland said they are once again linked to extended family clusters.
It means that a total of 205 cases have been recorded in the isles since the pandemic began last year.
Earlier today (Thursday) NHS Shetland outlined plans for three mass vaccination centres which will operate in the coming weeks and months.
NHS Shetland’s consultant in public health Dr Susan Laidlaw said many in Shetland were being asked to isolate and it was important that those isolating abided by the rules as this would contain the virus.
“If people are isolating because they have been traced as a contact, they are waiting for a test result, or indeed because they have tested positive, then this means they cannot leave their house unless for an emergency or to get a test,” she said.
“People who have been told to isolate by the contact tracing team will be put in touch with the support hub team who can arrange for shopping deliveries or anything else that is needed, if necessary.”
