Letters / Level four restrictions will remove ‘grey areas’

As the latest outbreak of Covid-19 in the North Mainland looks set to gather pace there is a possibility that Shetland may have moved to Level four by the time this letter is published.

A short move to Level four will be inconvenient and would incur further economic setback, a second round of which we could certainly do without.

Notwithstanding the unwelcome economic aspect however, there is not a huge difference between Levels three and four but a step up does make the conforming requirements more black and white when it comes to hospitality.

Unfortunately a move to Level four may be necessary to remove any grey areas in the current situation, thus making the rules easier to understand and stick to; both for locals and any transitory element in the Shetland population.
