News / Lerwick restaurant jacks it in
LERWICK franchise restaurant Monterey Jack’s has closed its doors for good just a matter of months after opening.
The American themed eaterie – which launched on Commercial Street in March – posted closed signs on its windows just days after it was reported that a number of hygiene improvement notices had been served on the restaurant.
Monterey Jack’s, which was managed by Richard Fergie and specialised in burgers, said it “apologised” to its customers for closing.
The building was formerly used by the Paparazzi restaurant/cafe.
Shetland News has approached Monterey Jack’s and Fergie for comment.
