Couple’s golden gift to Lerwick lifeboat team

A COUPLE who recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary have donated more than £1,000 towards the Lerwick Lifeboat.

George and Wilma Miller, from Quarff, asked guests at their anniversary celebration to make donations towards the cost of a thermal imaging camera for the lifeboat instead of giving them gifts.

As a result, on Monday night they were able to present the lifeboat team with a cheque for £1,170.
