News / Man denies weekend assault
A THIRTY five year old man has been granted bail after he denied assaulting another man in Scalloway at the weekend.
Andrew McAlpine, of Blydoit Park in the village’s East Voe area, appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday.
McAlpine is accused of assaulting the man on Saturday by pushing him with his body, grabbing him by the throat and clothing and forcing him backwards over a wall.
He was granted bail with the special condition that he must not approach the alleged victim in the case. A trial date of 4 September was set, with an intermediate diet on 15 August.
