News / Folk festival public sale
TICKETS for this year’s Shetland Folk Festival concerts will go on general public sale from 6pm on Monday.
The shows, due to take place between 27-30 April, have already gone on sale to members and a number of gigs are sold out or have limited availability.
Among the concerts still on sale include gigs in Brae on the Thursday, Clickimin’s Spangin’ Spree on the Friday and most of Saturday’s shows.
The all-encompassing foys at Mareel and Shetland Hotel on Sunday are already sold out.
Further details meanwhile have been released about a special concert due to be held at Mareel in Lerwick on Thursday 27 April.
Irish singer Michelle Burke and her band will host a show called Step Into My Parlour, a night of “songs, yarns and sherry” inspired by her great grandmother’s scrapbook.
A number of guests, including Kris Drever, Kevin Henderson and Chris Stout, will feature.
It has also been confirmed that visiting acts Veronica and the Red Wine Serenaders, The Chair and New Road, as well as local groups Tyunes, Hjaltibonhoga, and Rack ‘n’ Ruin, will perform on the Norwegian sailing vessel Statsraad Lehmkuhl on the Saturday.
