News / Pick-up off the road
A DRIVER escaped without injuries after their pick-up truck left the road and into a ditch in the south mainland of Shetland on Thursday evening.
The police said the one-vehicle incident took place at around 6.15pm near the Channerwick junction. The owner of the black Mitsubishi Warrior organised recovery of the vehicle.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said crew which had been tasked just minutes earlier to a full emergency at Sumburgh Airport came across the incident and made the scene safe.
Meanwhile one fire appliance was called out to reports of an unsafe skylight window at a property on Lerwick’s Fox Lane at around 1.40am on Friday.
Crew removed the window and left the scene less than one hour later.
