News / Buddhist monk to visit
A ZEN Buddhist monk will visit Shetland on Friday to give a public talk about mindfulness.
Brother Chan Phap Vu, who hails from America, will speak about living a mindful life and the virtues of peace at the Shetland Library in Lerwick at 7.30pm.
Earlier in the day, Chan Phap Vu will head to schools in Aith and Lerwick to convey his wisdom.
The visit has been organised by Shetland Inter Faith in partnership with Shetland Buddhist Group.
Chan Phap Vu was ordained in the monastery of Plum Village in France, which is the home of global spiritual leader Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
