News / £500 for mental health
SHETLAND mental health charity Mind Your Head has received a £500 donation from BP on behalf of Sullom Voe Terminal.
The money was part of BP’s Safety Incentive Scheme, awarded when staff complete 30 days without injury or incident.
Andrian Harsono, who works as an instrument and control engineer at Sullom Voe Terminal, picked Mind Your Head as the latest recipient.
Mind Your Head’s Anouska Civico thanked BP, saying it would help them continue their work “encouraging people to talk about their mental health problems and remove the stigma that is sometimes associated to mental health”.
In October, Mind Your Head said they will need “significant funding” as they look ahead to running a support service next year to bridge gaps in local mental health provision.
